Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – “The Best of OMD”

En este “The Best of OMD” están todos sus clásicos, empezando por “Enola Gay”, “Souvenir”, “Maid of Orleans”, “Joan of Arc”, “So In Love”, “If You Leave”… Un grupo a reivindicar absolutamente.

Enola Gay

You should have stayed at home yesterday

Ah-ha words can’t describe

The feeling and the way you lied

These games you play

They’re going to end in more than tears some day

Ah-ha Enola Gay

It shouldn’t ever have to end this way

It’s eight-fifteen

And that’s the time that it’s always been

We got your message on the radio

Conditions normal and you’re coming home

Enola Gay

Is Mother proud of Little Boy today

Ah-ha this kiss you give

It’s never ever going to fade away

Enola Gay

It shouldn’t ever have to end this way

Ah-ha Enola Gay

It shouldn’t fade in our dreams away

It’s eight-fifteen

And that’s the time that it’s always been

We got your message on the radio

Conditions normal and you’re coming home

Enola Gay

Is Mother proud of Little Boy today

Ah-ha this kiss you give

It’s never ever going to fade away

Dusty Springfield – “The Very Best Of Dusty Springfield”

Y hablamos nada más y nada menos que de “The Look Of Love” y “Whisin’ and Hopin'” de Burt Bacharach y Hal David; “I Close My Eyes And Count To Ten”; el “Son Of A Preacher Man” que Tarantino usara en una de las escenas más flipantes de Pulp Fiction; “I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself” que luego versionarían The White Stripes (tremendo el vídeoclip por cierto); la enorme “Stay Awhile”;”Little By Little”….y así todas.

The Radio Dept. – “Lesser Matters”

You are raining in

I can’t escape that feeling

You’re dripping into the buckets I have placed

Where damage isn’t already done

I saw you on bus 15

Heading north to take the train

Everyone looks the same

Still we have different names

Pet Shop Boys – “Please”

(“I’ve got the brains, you’ve got the looks, Let’s make lots of money”).

You can fly away to the end of the end of the world
But where does it get you to?
‘Cause just when you least expect it
Just what you least expect

Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can’t stop falling (Ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can’t stop falling (Ooh ooh)
