Dominique A – “L’Horizon”
Descubrí a Domique A con sus sexto disco “Auguri”, no abunda la música francesa en mi discoteca, pero una recomendación en Rockdelux me hizo escuchar aquel disco, corría el año 2001, el disco me gustó pero no termine de conectar con la música de Dominique A. Tuvieron que pasar 5 años más para que en el año 2006, en una visita a una tienda de discos, la voz que cantaba en el disco que estaba sonando me resultó familiar y le presté atención. La canción que sonaba era “L’Horizon”, un medio tiempo con un ritmo creciente con un poder brutal de evocación. y por supuesto su autor y cantante Dominique A. Compré el disco aquella misma tarde, como digo siempre, no sé si será el mejor disco de este pedazo de artista, pero a mi es el que más me gusta sin duda alguna. No entiendo ni una sola palabra de francés, dos o tres a los más, pero me encantan las canciones de este disco, la ya mencionada “L’Horizon”, “Dans un Camion” o la también preciosa “Rue des Marais”. Me gusta Domique A, y es verdad, que después de el he escuchado a otros franceses como Vincent Delerm o el imprescindible Benjamin Biolay.

El “soplo” de ayer me ha traído directamente al de hoy. ¿El enlace? Muy fácil, los coches. Coches y fiestas, eso es lo que abruma a Edith Frost mientras añora su Texas natal desde un Chicago que va demasiado rápido para ella.
Esta gema de pop juguetón, que fue un hit menor en la radios independientes americanas, llego a mí escondida, y nunca mejor dicho, en el recopilatorio “Hidden Songs”
de los chicos de Green Ufos, la distribuidora Sevillana a la que le debemos entre otros, a Dominique A o a los Ladybug Transistor.
Canciones como esta son las que me levantan el ánimo cuando el cielo gris ya presagia el otoño.
