Bob Dylan – “Oh Mercy”

Con la extensa e increíble discografía de Robert Allen Zimmermann, Bob Dylan, elegir un solo disco es tarea casi imposible porque hay unas cuentas obras maestras, pero en mi caso, lo tuve claro desde el primer momento, “Oh Mercy” es el disco de Dylan que más veces he escuchado y probablemente uno de los que más me ha gustado si no el que más. Dylan llevaba unos cuantos años sin entregar un gran disco cuando en su camino se cruzó Daniel Lanois, que ya había producido el “Joshua Tree” de U2 y el “So” de Peter Gabriel, y la magia se produjo. Aquí aparece de nuevo el mejor Dylan, consus mejores letras, duras e incisivas como en “Political World”, muy personales como en “Most of the Time”… y su omnipresente voz. Dylan en estado puro.
Pero mi canción favorita del disco y probablemente la canción de Dylan que más he escuchado en mi vida es “Man In The Long Black Coat”, la grabé en cintas, la escuché en las largas noches de invierno y en las tardes calurosas de verano, su cadencia, la manera de Bob de arrastrar los versos, esa slide guitar… todo, un temazo.
Lo dicho no se si “Oh Mercy” es el mejor disco de Dylan, probablemente no, pero para mí es imprescindible.
