The White Stripes, consiguieron un éxito mundial y masivo con este “Elephant”, su cuarto disco, y fundamentalmente por su megahit “Seven Nation Army”, una canción que se ha convertido en himno global, ese “paaaapapapapa, paaaaapapapapa” que parece sacado de un bajo, pero que en realidad es la guitarra acústica de Jack White sonando a través de un pedal. Un disco lleno de rock y blues en estado puro, solo la guitarra de Jack y la batería de Meg, su mujer en aquella época, más que suficiente para un disco “revivalista” pero con mucho, pero que mucho arte. Rojo, blanco y negro, sus colores, de toda su estética, yo diría más, también de su música. Les duró lo que les duró el amor, o al menos eso cuentan, pero nos dejaron seis discos que merece la pena revisitar, aunque para mí este es el más accesible, y también el mejor. Música en rojo, blanco y negro, nada más.
