Propaganda – “A Secret Wish”

Una ración de synth-pop, está claro que musicalmente soy hijo de los 80, “A Secret Wish” es el primer disco del grupo alemán Propaganda. Aunque este disco, que a primera vista puede parecer un producto típicamente comercial de aquella época, es un proyecto mucho más ambicioso. Propaganda fueron la primera apuesta del sello de Trevorn Horn, que a parte de ser miembro de The Buggles, sí los de “Vídeo Killed the Radio Star”, y ser conocido como “El hombre que inventó los 80” también fue el fundador de ZTT (léase Zang Tum Tum), en sus filas militaron no sólo Propaganda si no también grupos como Frankie Goes To Hollywood o Art Of Noise . Yo conocí a Propaganda gracias a su segundo single “Duel”, una canción con la me quedé nada más escucharla en la radio en 1985, el primer single “Dr. Mabuse” había pasado desapercibido para mí. Compré el disco, no es un disco sencillo, salvo “Duel” y el tercer single “p:Machinery” el resto es bastante experimental, a pesar de eso el álbum tiene algo distinto, de hecho en las escuchas de estos días he descubierto una preciosidad como “Dream Within A Dream” a la que no había prestado atención alguna hasta ahora y me he encontrado con que el mismísimo David Sylvian colaboró en el disco. Una sorpresa más de este disco.
