Con el inicio del siglo XXI aparecieron algunos artistas que volvieron a poner de moda los sonidos acústicos, bonitas melodías, arreglos sencillos y preciosas armonías vocales. Casualmente, a lo mejor no tan casualmente, los dos que más me impactaron venían de países nórdicos, el sueco José González y los noruegos Kings Of Convenience. Y si disfruté mucho de los dos discos que tengo de José González, Kings Of Convenience se han convertido en uno de mis grupos favoritos. “Quiet Is The New Loud” (2001) fue su primer disco y es uno de esos álbumes que te da calor en las largas noches de invierno o te acompaña bajo las estrellas en las cálidas noches de verano, como está de hoy en la que escribo. Nick Drake en el retrovisor sin ninguna duda, aunque sin la dulce poesía de este, pero con hermosas canciones igualmente como “Toxic Girl”, “Winning a Battle, Losing the War” o “Little Kids”. Esperando un nuevo disco de ellos, sería el cuarto (quinto si contamos el disco de remezclas “Versus”), les echo de menos.
