Reconozco que una de las cosas más difíciles de esta tarea que me auto impuesto es saltar de discos, como el de ayer de Julio Bustamante, que son obras maestras que perduran en el tiempo a discos que en su momento me gustaron y marcaron un determinado momento, pero que no son discos a los que suelo volver salvo para recuperar el recuerdo. El disco de hoy, el primero de Cock Robin, es de los segundos, tuvo su momento y trae bonitos recuerdos, pero su escucha estos días me ha producido cierta tristeza también. En 1985 un compañero de clase me recomendó a este grupo norteamericano antes de que empezaran a sonar en las radio fórmulas de la época y hubo un par de canciones que me llamaron la atención, las que a la postre se convertirían en un éxito menor, “When Your Heart Is Weak” y “The Promise You made”, dos canciones que probablemente sean lo único que hoy puedo salvar del disco, sobre todo “When Your Heart is Weak”. Tuvo su momento y se ganó su derecho a estar en esta lista.
