Talking Heads – “Little Creatures”

Este “Little Creatures” (1985) fue mi llave de entrada al mundo de Talkin Heads, es probablemente su disco más accesible y también el más comercial. Me recuerdo, en aquel lejano 1985,  grabando de la radio el primer single de este disco, “The Lady Don’t Mind”, me apasionaba aquella canción, creo que las inflexiones vocales de David Byrne y los cambios de ritmo de la canción me atraparon. Con el segundo single, “Road To Nowhere”, que además iba acompañado de un vídeo que las televisiones de la época no dejaron de emitir, el disco se hizo aún más conocido, y con el tercero, “And She Was”, otra canción que me encantó y lo sigue haciendo, corrí a la tienda a por el disco. Al llegar a casa  y escuchar este “Little Creatures” descubrí otros dos temazos, mi favorita del disco “Televisión Man” y “Creatures Love”. Más que suficiente para que empezara a interesarme por aquel grupo hasta entonces desconocido para mí y descubriera discos como “Remain In Light” o “Speaking In Tongues” que también se colaron en mi discoteca. Probablemente “Little Creatures” no sea de sus mejores discos, de hecho ni le trató ni le trata bien, les acusaron de buscar el camino fácil para conseguir el acceso a audiencias masivas, pero ¿es eso un crimen? En mi caso, como ya he dicho, me permitió acceder a obras maestras como “Remain In Light”, a las que problablemente habría llegado de todas maneras más tarde, pero a la vez disfruté mucho, lo sigo haciendo, del disco.
