Madness son ese típico grupo que, al menos para mí, parece que se quedan a mitad de camino de todo. Me explico, demasiado comerciales en determinados momentos pero con la suficiente calidad como para ser apreciados por los críticos. Yo llegué a Madness por este disco, en concreto por “Our House” el single que extrajeron de este de “The Rise And fall” y que sonó por todas partes en aquel 1982, contagioso a más no poder. Madness hacían una mezcla de ska y pop que les permitió acceder al gran público y “The Rise And Fall” es su mejor disco, probablemente su calidad fue eclipsada por el éxito de “Our House, pero había mucho más en este disco. El arranque con “Rise And Fall” es fantástico, “Tomorrow’s Just Another Day”puro pop y “Madness (Is All In the Mind”) un clásico instantáneo. No he vuelto a menudo a este disco pero cuando escucho alguna de sus canciones me siguen pareciendo más que disfrutable.
