Este fue el primer disco que compré fiándome a ciegas de Rockdelux, ellos colocaron este “Big World” de Joe Jackson en el número uno de sus listas de discos internacionales de 1986 (mi año mágico). Ni idea de quién era, aquel enero de 1987 lo averigüé, “Big World” era nada menos que su octavo disco, estaba llegando tarde a Joe Jackson, había que arreglarlo. Me hice un “master rápido” en Joe Jackson, primero devorando este disco doble con solo tres caras grabadas y luego yendo hacia atrás en su discografía.
“Big World” es un disco ecléctico, Joe Jackson había cultivado el pop-rock y la New Wave en sus primeros discos a, y para este, que grabó en directo, con público al que pidió que no hiciera ruido (ni aplausos), mezcló distintos estilos, hasta un tango!! (“Tango Atlántico”). Hay auténticos temazos, “Right And Wrong”, “Tonight And Forever”… y las que son sin duda mis favoritas “Hometown” y “We Can’t Live Together”. Un clásico instántaneo.
