Esta mañana me he levantado leyendo que hoy se cumplían tres años desde la muerte del gran John Martyn. Me ha sorprendido. Ni me había enterado. En cuanto he podido me he puesto a escuchar el disco que me introdujo en su mundo, como casi siempre, no fue el primero , ni tan siquiera el segundo, si la cuenta no me falla fue el decimotercero. Piece By Piece, quizás su álbum mas accesible, hasta aquella fecha. En el se mezclaban Jazz, Pop e incluso Funk, si a eso unimos su profunda voz y una chaval de 17 años con ganas de escuchar cosas nuevas, el asunto estaba hecho. Si además le unes la cantidad de veces que le rompen a uno el corazón con esa edad, y que “Lonely Love ” es la canción perfecta para terminar de rompertelo y empezar la reconstrucción, no había mas que hablar, la canción y John Martyn estaban allí para quedarse, para siempre.
