Que los gustos evolucionan con la experiencia, llámale edad/madurez, es un hecho. Yo, por ejemplo, conocí a mi gruñón favorito, Lloyd Cole gracias a su segundo disco con los Commotions, “Easy Pieces”, lo conté hace unos años, y durante bastante tiempo no entendía a los que decían que su primer disco “Rattlesnakes” era mucho mejor, a mi me gustaba mucho más “Easy Pieces” con aquel “Lost Weekend” y “Brand New Friend”,… Pero un día se te empieza a caer más el pelo, y te da por volver a escuchar “Rattlesnakes” y… ohhh!! ¿por qué he pasado tanto tiempo sin escuchar esta pedazo de obra maestra? Porque lo es, es uno de los grandes discos de los 80, curioso como en una entrevista que leí con motivo de su la edición de uno de sus últimos discos en solitario, mencionaban a este disco entre el primero de Aztec Camera y el segundo de Prefab Sprout. No hay más que escuchar, “Perfect Skin”, “Down On Mission Street”, “Forest Fire” y por supuesto “Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken?” (genial la respuesta de Camera Obscura, por cierto), para darse cuenta que es un disco enorme. Yo he seguido por supuesto la más que admirable carrera de Lloyd Cole después, un músico a reivindicar siempre.

Bonus Tuve la suerte de ver en directo a mi gruñón escocés favorito en concierto en la gira de “Broken Record” en compañía de mis partenaires favoritos para conciertos, Lou y Valen, en un set semi-acústico. Estuvo inmenso. Cuando acabó su concierto alimentó su fama, “Os cantó una más o firmo discos, las dos no” Cantó una más. A los pocos días le escribí un tweet.
